This service is typically to help more mature clients to do everyday tasks, from taking out the rubbish to laundry duties to light household tasks. Home Help can be practical help around the home, it can support physical emotional and mental well being. Home help supports more senior clients in later stages of life.

Individual needs

Every client has individual needs some may require more intense input some may require little and often assistance. At our initial meeting we will talk to you, to understand exactly what help you need. Our services are flexible and we will quote you a bespoke rate based upon the services that you need.

Promoting self independence

Home help encourages and promotes self independence and to remain within the clients home environment for as long as possible. Remaining in your own home surrounded by your own memories and belongings can significantly aid your sense of well being.

What tasks can Home Help include?

Practical support has many levels from low level household chores, admin and other light duties to personal care, dressing and medication.

Typically Home Help might include:
Getting the person out of bed
Helping with washing and dressing
Assisting with basic medication
Meal preparation
Companion care – reminiscing, games, engaging in hobbies
Befriending
Social activities – accompanying them to groups, doctors, activities, friends, relatives.

Home help is a alternative to care home, residential care or nursing establishments. Home help is a good solution for anyone who wishes to remain in their own home for as long as possible, to live life as independently as they can.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is there a minimum amount of time that you can help with?

The minimum visit is ordinarily one hour. This is because we don’t charge for travel time and if we visit for less than one hour it may take us more than that to get to and from your home. If you require less than one hour e.g. half an hour we may agree to this but we will need to charge travel time and mileage.

What if I require help with something that is not listed on this website?

We would always encourage you to contact us with any requirements. We pride ourselves on our flexibility and adaptability. Also if you require a service that we do not offer, it may well be that we can introduce you to somebody who can help.

Do you charge different rates for different services?

Yes. This is why we like to have an initial meeting with you to understand precisely the mix of help that you need. We will also quote up front the hourly rate/s for the services that you need, so there will no unpleasant surprises. When your needs change, our service can respond accordingly. We are also always happy to fully itemise our invoices so that you can see exactly what you are charged for.

Do you work weekends?
Generally speaking we work Monday – Friday inside school hours because of our personal commitments. We have and do sometimes work evenings, so contact us with your requirements. Any work outside normal hours will incur a premium.

What if I don’t get on with the person that I am assigned?
We very rarely find that this is the case. You can however be assured that we are not tying you into a lengthy contract, so if you decide the person we assign is not for you, you can end the service at any point.

What areas do you cover?
Areas covered are: Stonehouse and surrounding areas. Any enquiries from further away will need to factor in travel expenses.

What about any costs you incur on my behalf?
Any consumable equipment used to provide a service may incur additional charges, but if you have your own then all the better. Please call to discuss.

Can I be assured that you will respect my confidentiality?
Absolutely. All services are non-judgemental & confidential.
